Bluegrass Dental Associates

Hello, I am Dr. Kin Shaw. When my dentist fixed my broken front teeth suffered in a bicycle wreck at eight years old, I told everyone from that point on that I would be a dentist when I grew up. It is no surprise that getting people out of pain and restoring broken teeth continues to be the favorite part of my job today.

With support from great family and friends, I graduated from Apollo High School in 1993. I received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in 1997 and my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Kentucky in 2001. I completed a general practice residency at the University of Kentucky in 2002 which provided me extra training with medically compromised patients incorporating rotations through anesthesia, internal medicine, and oral surgery. I scored at the top 10% in the country on the dental board exams and am most proud of my perfect attendance throughout middle school, high school, college and dental school.

I have carried this hard work over to my profession and am striving to make Bluegrass Dental, which I started July 1^st of 2002, one of the best dental practices in Kentucky. I am consistently averaging two to three times the board required amount of continuing education. I have been very active in organized dentistry serving as secretary for four years and vice president for three years of the Green River Dental Society. I am also constantly reading dental journals to help me stay up to date with the best materials, techniques, and technology offered today.

I am fortunate to have my lovely wife, Jolene, as the office manager who shares with me this determination. Our teamwork days, nights, and often weekends ensures the ongoing success of the practice. Lastly, but most important, I consider myself very lucky to have such a hard working, highly trained, and friendly staff. It is their hard work and obvious compassion for what they do that helps motivate me to continue making this one of the best practices in the Bluegrass. Together, we hope to give our patients, many of whom are like family, the high quality dental care that they deserve.
